I had all three of my children attend this school, after transferring them from another national school, and what a wonderful, best decision we ever made. From day one, the staff, teachers and entire school community went above and beyond for our family, making us feel so welcome and supported. Academically, it is simply outstanding. Every single child is nurtured, encouraged and fully included in every aspect of their learning, both indoors and out. They benefit from such a balanced approach, learning through play alongside excellent textbook work, and wonderful STEM opportunities that really spark their curiosity. My own three children all reached such high academic standards here, and I’ll always be grateful for that. As a Catholic school, faith and community mean so much here. The children serve at Abbey Mass and are such a cherished, active part of our parish. It’s lovey to see them grow with that sense of belonging. There is just so much on offer! Weekly music lessons include both trumpet and tin whistle, and we’ve enjoyed fabulous Christmas concerts, singing and dancing performances. Outdoors it’s just as vibrant. Hurling and camogie tournaments, soccer and rounders at break time, sports days, and lovely nature areas for the children to enjoy. Safety is absolutely paramount. The school has its own defibrillator on site, and their clear safety statement is proudly displayed at the entrance. You can see how they care about keeping everyone safe. They’ve created lovely indoor and outdoor sensory spaces too, where children can go to rest and regulate when they need to. The yard is bright and well-equipped — hopscotch markings, hurling goal nets and basketball hoops — it’s wonderful. And not forgetting the wonderful den where they keep adding sticks and building their outdoor forth. On top of that, they now have breakfast club, after-school care, and delicious hot meals provided daily, this is something every parent truly appreciates. None of this would be possible without a wonderful team behind the scenes. Tbey are so lucky to have a very active, wonderful Parents’ Association and a dedicated, hardworking Board of Management. Both do such great work for our children and school. Communication is excellent too; parents are always kept up to date with group messages and notes home. You are never left wondering what’s going on. The teachers are just incredible, they are kind, dedicated, talented, and always willing to go that extra mile. They don’t just teach your children; they truly care about them. That’s why, even though my own children have moved on, I still love to help wherever I can. It’s a joy to give back, because this school gave my family so many precious, happy memories that will last a lifetime. The school is working hard on updating its facilities right now, and any support like an IPad, they receive would be so well-deserved. They pour their hearts into the children every single day. They truly are a credit to our community. They absolutely deserve to win. Thank you so much.
